Your story does not end with your pain. Your Redeemer lives. ❤️🔥
What will be written about your life when you've walked through one of your darkest seasons?
In “Written in Stone,” Pastor Jeff Tolle continues Vida Church LA's FAITH FORGED series through the Book of Job and takes us into one of the most powerful declarations of hope found in Scripture.
Job had lost almost everything.
His children.
His possessions.
His health.
The support of his family.
And even his friends—who, instead of comforting him, accused him and crushed him with their words.
Job looked back and longed for the days when he felt that God illuminated the path before him.
But there was a powerful reality Job couldn't always feel:
God was still with him.
Sometimes what we feel isn't reality.
And even when you cannot feel God's presence, the Almighty is still present with His children. Pasted text
In the middle of his suffering, Job cries out:
“Oh, that my words could be recorded. Oh, that they could be inscribed on a monument… carved forever in the rock.”
But what did Job want written in stone?
His suffering was real.
His pain was real.
His innocence concerning the accusations against him mattered.
But Job's story didn't end there.
From the depths of his suffering comes an extraordinary declaration:
“BUT AS FOR ME, I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVES.” 🙌🏼🔥
And Job continues:
“I will see Him for myself. Yes, I will see Him with my own eyes.”
Suddenly, Job's story is no longer defined only by what he lost.
It's defined by the One he knows he will eventually see. Pasted text
And the same truth gives us hope today.
Your story doesn't have to end with your trauma.
It doesn't end with betrayal.
It doesn't end with sickness.
It doesn't end with what you lost.
It doesn't end with the storm you're walking through.
For those who belong to Jesus Christ, our ultimate story ends face to face with our Redeemer. ✝️
Pastor Jeff explores the biblical meaning of a redeemer—someone who pays the price to reclaim what belongs to them—and connects Job's declaration with the picture of redemption we see through Ruth and Boaz.
Job felt abandoned by everyone around him, but he could still look beyond his circumstances and declare:
I HAVE A REDEEMER.
And for us, that truth ultimately points to Jesus Christ.
Jesus paid the price at the cross.
He saves.
He restores.
He heals.
He delivers.
He transforms. ❤️🔥
Something happens when Job shifts his focus from his pain toward his Redeemer.
His despair begins to become hope. Pasted text
Maybe today you need that same reminder.
You cannot go back and live in what was.
Your path is forward.
And even when you cannot see clearly through the darkness, there is still light ahead.
Lift your eyes and declare:
MY REDEEMER LIVES.
MY STORY DOESN'T END HERE.
I WILL SEE THE GOODNESS OF GOD. 🙏🏼
